Role Summary

The Route Manager (RM) is responsible for increasing the Chemsyn footprint in their designated route through the acquisition of new customers and the adjoining revenue. The RM is the conduit for the entire range of Chemsyn services to the customer, including New Dishmachine Rentals, Equipment Sales, Chemical and Hygiene consumable sales.

The Route Manager will maintain and grow sales within an existing route that includes food service and hospitality accounts through cold calling and prospecting. Become familiar with customers’ operations and devise unique solutions as their expert on advanced cleaning and sanitation while applying your mechanical aptitude to install and repair dish machines and dispensing systems, demonstrate safe equipment use, and ensure systems are fully operational.

Base Pay: $60,000.00 to $65,000 per year depending on experience. On Target Earnings: $60,000 - $85,000 based on experience, inclusive of commissions earned. Commissions are not capped.Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the General Manager - Western Canada, the duties and responsibilities of the Route Manager (RM) include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Handles all preventative maintenance and repairs;
  • Installations - ensure great first impression customer experience.
  • Demonstrate Chemsyn’s consultativesales approach;
  • Provide emergency service coverage after hours to customers as required;
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with existing and prospective customers as well as manufacturers’ representatives;
  • In-service customers on proper use of supplies and/or equipment;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, strong relationship management capabilities, and flexibility to adapt and adjust day to assist customers in this fast paced, multi-tasking, around the clock environment;
  • Assist in Accounts Receivable
  • After Hours On-Call Service (Shifts to be rotated between RM’s in Territory group)
  • Make telephone calls, in-person visits, and presentations to existing and prospective customers;
  • Participate in trade shows, conventions, and sales meetings;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Post Secondary Certificate or Degree in related field; or comparable industry experience;
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Field Service & Sales position or in a similar sales focused position;
  • Valid G driver’s license;
  • Proficient in using a computer, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Accountable and dependable;
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills;
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic; and
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Experience as a Restaurant General Manager is an assetWorking Conditions
  • Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours;
  • Required to work in a busy, open area which may result in constant interruptions;
  • Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
