Litigation Legal Assistant
Our Client, a well-established and genuinely supportive firm, is looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant who knows their way around a busy practice and still brings a calm, steady presence to the day-to-day. With a minimum of three years’ experience under your belt, you will be trusted to manage deadlines, keep files moving, and act as a reliable right hand to your lawyers. Salary: Up to $80K (Based on Experience)Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, edit, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Coordinate workflow and delegate tasks to internal support teams, ensuring timely completion
- Assist lawyers with litigation matters, including preparing pleadings, coordinating filings and service, and supporting hearings and trials
- Manage calendars, court deadlines, and key dates, including scheduling discoveries, hearings, and client meetings
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic files for efficient document management and retrieval
- Liaise with courts, external agencies, and clients; manage incoming calls, correspondence, and mail
- Support administrative and financial processes, including time entry, billing coordination, and file openings
- Provide general administrative support, including travel coordination, meeting logistics, and team assistance as needed
Qualifications
- Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a litigation legal assistant role
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail with advanced proofreading, editing, and formatting skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow up on files with minimal supervision
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Flexibility to occasionally work overtime as required
