As a comprehensive manufacturer of engineered composite products, Carfair Composites supplies quality fiberglass components to the original equipment manufacturers operating in agriculture, automotive, construction, transportation, commercial, food processing, and medical industries. **We're looking for a dedicated Mold Shop/Mold Maker to join our team on the Day Shift (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday).**POSITION SUMMARY: Skilled and experienced Senior Composite Mold Maker to execute the fabrication of high-quality composite molds for automotive, or industrial applications. This role involves creating precision tooling using materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and epoxy-based resins, ensuring dimensional accuracy and adherence to project timelines. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Design, build, and finish complex composite molds from CAD drawings, plug models, or patterns.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models
  • Lay up fiberglass, carbon fiber, and other composite materials using open mold/vacuum bagging/infusion techniques or resin transfer
  • Mix and apply gelcoat, epoxies, resins, and adhesives per specifications
  • Trim, assemble, and finish molds using hand tools, power tools, and/or CNC equipment
  • Does woodwork, body, work, and body fairing
  • Ensure molds meet tight tolerances and surface quality standards
  • Repair and maintain molds for reusability and longevity
  • Mentor junior mold makers and provide training on techniques and safety
  • Maintain and model a satisfactory work record, which includes but is not limited to, safety, quality, efficiency, attendance & punctuality, and behavior. As per the Company rules and regulations
  • Maintain a positive attitude to encourage a positive team
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships showing respect and professionalism with those contracted in the course of work, including co-workers, leaders, suppliers, and customers as required
  • Participate and encourage providing insights for opportunities on the root cause of concerns and continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in composite mold making or a related field
  • Expert-level skills in fiberglass/carbon fiber lay-up, vacuum bagging, and mold fabrication
  • Strong understanding of mold release systems, resins, and composites chemistry
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools, templates, and gauges
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and CAD/CAM software a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train others when required
