Position Overview The Automatic Cutter must be able to operate the cutting machines, including changing blades and checking machine before cutting. Will also have to constantly monitor cut quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Take instructions from Supervisor
  • Read cutting orders
  • Check the cut information called in the program and ensure the styles and sizes are correct
  • Check the cycle according to cutting order. Ensure cutting machine is set up according to ply height speed and reciprocation speed
  • Check material (fabrics) if complete prior to cutting
  • Report immediately to the Supervisor any issues
  • Ensure proper safety procedures are followed
  • Check quality while machine is cutting.
  • Assist the Sorter in ensuring all cut pieces are removed and packed.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workstation

Education, Qualifications And Experience

  • Grade 12
  • Experience in a apparel manufacturing environment an asset

Knowledge, Skills And Attributes

  • Understanding of numbers and measurements
  • Basic computer skills a must
  • Good command of English is required
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking for 8 hours
  • Working knowledge of production functions
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and works well under pressure
  • Must have a strong work ethic with a proactive approach to the role
  • Detailed oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision
