The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre is looking to hire for the position of Graphic Design Coordinator in the Communications and External Relations Department. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, this position is responsible for creating digital and print visual designs through graphics and other visual assets for a variety of purposes across the organization. These include marketing materials, digital signage, client signage, internal communications, and social media graphics. The role plays a key part in maintaining brand consistency and evolving the CTCC’s visual identity both internally and externally. It also involves creating client visual designs based on client branding or resizing client graphics for events hosted at the CTCC. This is a highly collaborative position, working closely with colleagues in the marketing department, internal teams across the organization, and external clients. Duties and Responsibilities Marketing
- Design and produce creative materials for:
Digital Print Social media Advertising Presentations Landing pages Activations and event branding Other Visual Assets And Projects As Required
- Storytelling through designs by turning creative briefs into visuals that feel fresh, emotional, and connect with the targeted audience.
- Work collaboratively and with curiosity across Marketing, Sales, and Event Management teams to activate sales initiatives, driving projects from initial concept through to execution, across a range of complexities.
- Execute creative assets that communicate the CTCC brand clearly and meaningfully across all channels—from social and email to web, campaigns, print and digital advertising.
- Produce professional print materials including but not limited to, one pagers, brochures, pop up banners, and others with expert-level typography and layout.
- Manage multiple design projects concurrently, ensuring the highest standards and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team to translate strategic objectives into engaging creative designs.
- Ensure accessibility standards are considered in all design outputs (e.g., contrast, readability, alt text for digital assets).
- Support basic video editing and motion graphics for digital campaigns, where applicable.
- Other duties as required to support the successful objectives of the organization.
Client Digital Signage
- Create or reformat graphics that meet client’s brand guidelines and our digital signage requirements.
- Liaise with Sales, Event Management, and clients to accommodate digital asset needs supporting in-house events.
- Participate in client-facing and pre-convention meetings to ensure service delivery goals are attained.
- Coordinate with the IT department to publish client graphics onto digital assets.
- Ensure all client-facing visuals meet the CTCC’s quality standards and technical specifications (e.g., resolution, aspect ratio).
Internal Communications
- Serve as the lead resource on the CTCC’s brand standards and visual identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
- Provide design support across all departments, maintaining brand guidelines, including typography, colour, and style.
- Develop design templates to ensure brand consistency in digital and print signage, branded collateral, and other departmental materials.
- Support internal campaigns with visual storytelling that aligns with organizational culture and values.
Experience And Requirements
- 1-3 years of design experience, in a consumer brand, corporate business, non-profit or design agency.
- Experience with project management or collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Slack, Microsoft Teams).
- Experience with motion graphics or video editing is an asset.
- Must be flexible to work outside regular business hours (early mornings, evenings, nights and/or weekends) if/when required.
Job Related Skills Design & Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects), Canva, and other relevant design tools.
- Strong ability to create exceptional graphic designs and visuals that reflect a corporate brand.
- Displays strong ability to effectively convert written content and ideas into a visual format.
- Proficient understanding of UX/UI principles and how they apply to digital design.
- Possesses knowledge and/or experience with WordPress.
- Photography knowledge.

Education
- A degree or diploma in graphic design, marketing, or related field preferred.
