If this sounds like a fit, we’d love you to be a part of it. About The Role We’re seeking a Privacy & Compliance Manager to lead the development of a legislative compliance management system and strengthen CAAT’s privacy program. This is a newly created role within the Aligned Assurance team, offering the opportunity to build foundational systems and drive compliance innovation across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in collaborative environments, is comfortable building from scratch, and brings a strategic lens to privacy and compliance work. You’ll be the internal go-to for privacy incidents, regulatory monitoring, and cross-departmental compliance coordination. As The Newest Member Of Our Team, You’ll
- Design and implement a comprehensive Legislative Compliance Management System.
- Monitor compliance with privacy and pension-related legislation across departments.
- Lead privacy incident response, including investigation and resolution in collaboration with Member and Employer Services.
- Deliver training sessions and refreshers for internal teams on privacy best practices and incident themes.
- Review and update CAAT’s privacy manual and internal resources (e.g., CAATnet privacy page).
- Build dashboards and reporting tools to track regulatory filings and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, Finance, Cybersecurity, and other departments to ensure alignment and support.
- Maintain and adapt CAAT’s privacy program, including breach response, vendor contract reviews, and policy updates.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership and support internal audits and reviews.
To Succeed, You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in privacy program management, compliance, or a related legal role, ideally within pensions or financial services.
- A university degree in accounting, finance, law, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Canadian privacy legislation (e.g., PIPEDA) and the Pension Benefits Act (PBA).
- Professional designation preferred (e.g., CIPP/C, CIPM, CPP).
- Experience building or implementing compliance systems or frameworks.
- Comfort working with Excel and a curiosity for emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools that support compliance and privacy workflows.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A proactive, open-minded approach to building new systems and processes from the ground up.
