Title: Maintenance Coordinator, Broadway Business Improvement District
Location: Broadway Avenue, Saskatoon, SK
Position Type: Seasonal (April – October), Part-Time (30 hrs./week)
Compensation: $22.00 – 25.00 / hour
The Broadway Business Improvement District (BBID) works to enhance, promote, and maintain Broadway Avenue as Saskatoon’s premier arts, culture, and shopping destination. We’re seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Coordinator to join our team and help keep Broadway beautiful, inclusive and welcoming for everyone during the summer months.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the Broadway district. This includes general street and sidewalk upkeep, graffiti removal, event support, and reporting/coordination with the City of Saskatoon on maintenance-related matters.
What You’ll Do:
· Perform daily street and sidewalk maintenance (litter removal, sweeping, minor repairs).
· Coordinate graffiti removal or coverage and ensure timely response to maintenance concerns.
· Act as a liaison with the City of Saskatoon on maintenance and public works issues.
· Record maintenance-related expenses.
· Support BBID events and programs, including setup and takedown duties.
· Assist with the procurement of maintenance supplies and materials.
· Maintain BBID property, tools, and equipment in good working order.
· Other duties as required.
Schedule:
· Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week (6 hours per day, one ½ hr. unpaid break).
· Some after-hours/weekend work is required during BBID events, including but not limited to Spring Fling, Broadway’s Block Parties, Street Fair and Ghouls and Goodies.
Qualifications:
· Experience in general maintenance, facility or groundskeeping, or related field.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Can work independently and follow instructions from leaders.
· Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
· Hold a valid driver’s license.
· Physical demands include moving equipment, requiring the ability to lift 75 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits:
· Hourly wage of $22.00 - $25.00 / hr., depending on experience.
· Vacation pay at 3/52 and public holiday pay as per Saskatchewan Employment Standards.
· ½ hour unpaid break per shift.
