The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to be apart of our growth efforts in British Columbia and/or Alberta, focusing on building and expanding relationships with mortgage brokers in the BC/AB market. This role is central to Bloom’s growth strategy and will be instrumental in bringing our reverse mortgage solutions to more Canadian homeowners. This role will be reporting directly to our Head of National Broker Sales.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of referral partnerships with mortgage brokers in BC and/or Alberta. You will be given a designated territory within the BC/AB market.
- Deliver training sessions, presentations, and one-on-one coaching to ensure partners understand and confidently promote Bloom’s reverse mortgage solutions
- Collaborate closely with Bloom’s internal underwriting and account executive team to support deal flow from lead to funding
- Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and expand Bloom’s presence across key BC markets
- Represent Bloom at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
- Stay current on market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy and execution
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and KPIs
- Provide feedback from the field to help evolve Bloom’s product, process, and partner support tools
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in business development, mortgage lending, or financial services
- Existing relationships within the BC/AB mortgage broker community are a strong asset
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote-first environment
- Willingness to travel throughout British Columbia/Alberta
- Passion for helping older Canadians improve their financial well-being
- BC or Alberta Mortgage agent license
