Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a LeadMechanical Designer with experience in the mining industry to join the Team at our Vancouver or Calgary office. About The Role

  • Prepare layouts and detail drawings in line with project requirements;
  • Deliver design drafting according to required project timeframes and standards by coordinating and supervising project members, reviewing deliverables and preparing design and detail drawings in line with requirements;
  • Overcome design/schedule issues by maintaining an overview of activity, communicating with the Principal Draftsperson and communicating issues in a timely manner;
  • Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards;
  • Comply with all of Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and requirements.

About You

  • Advanced diploma or equivalent in mechanical engineering technology
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Mechanical design, plant layout experience with crushing, grinding, materials handling, flotation, slurry, pumping, slurry agitation, particle size classification and separation would also be highly regarded;
  • Experience in Mechanical design and drafting of Mineral Processing Plants within a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling: Plant3D, S3D, Advance Steel
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience managing teams and leadership capabilities
