An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This position could be in Ausenco’s offices either in Vancouver or Burnaby. About The Role

  • Assist in maintaining the trial balances of approximately 15 entities in 3 countries.
  • Prepare and process complex month end journals.
  • Prepare documentation for year end audits including tax packs and finance packs for select legal entities in multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations concurrently with Ausenco’s Shared Service Centre.
  • Prepare State and County tax returns as well as GST, QST, HST, PST, returns.
  • Maintenance of fixed asset schedule for all North American entities
  • Complete and submit Statistics Canada surveys.
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecast for North America Finance team.
  • Provide backup duties for other accounting team members.
  • Special projects including acquisition accounting, SRED working paper preparation, accounting for remote offices, ad-hoc analysis.
  • Other miscellaneous Finance related tasks, as required.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting.
  • Designated or pursuing professional accounting designation.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in general accounting in a professional services environment.
  • Full cycle accounting experience including A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger maintenance and government remittances is an asset.
  • Exposure to corporate tax and annual audits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to innovate and create efficiencies.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials is an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, SUMIF, OFFSET, VLOOKUP).
  • IFRS knowledge.
  • Audit experience is an asset.
  • Exposure to Canadian and US Tax is an asset.
