The Role

You will lead the core AI/ML architecture across Aurelian Venture’s portfolio of predictive platforms.

This is a builder + leadership position: design production-grade ML systems, own the technical vision, and scale from prototype to enterprise SaaS while mentoring a growing team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Architect and lead development of large-scale RAG systems on domain-specific document corpora (tens of thousands of PDFs/HTMLs)
• Build advanced NLP pipelines for pattern detection, trend forecasting, risk/opportunity scoring, and citation-aware remediation recommendations
• Design probabilistic and time-series models that handle noisy, imbalanced, evolving data with strong explainability
• Own end-to-end ML lifecycle: data acquisition & preprocessing → embedding & vector search → model training → MLOps & monitoring
• Implement audit-ready practices: explainable AI, bias detection, drift monitoring, full provenance tracking
• Guide architecture decisions that enable reuse across verticals while preserving domain specificity
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with domain experts to ensure predictions are both technically robust and commercially valuable

QualificationsRequired:

• 7+ years hands-on production ML experience, with emphasis on NLP and large unstructured document systems
• Deep expertise building and optimizing RAG pipelines at scale (LangChain/LlamaIndex, chunking strategies, retrieval tuning)
• Strong proficiency with modern ML stacks: PyTorch/Hugging Face Transformers, vector databases (Pinecone/Weaviate/FAISS), Python ecosystem
• Experience leading technical direction and small-to-medium engineering efforts
• Track record shipping explainable, reliable models in high-stakes or regulated environments

Strongly Preferred:

• Background in RegTech, LegalTech, ComplianceTech, FinTech AI, PharmaTech, or similar vertical intelligence platforms
• Experience with large-scale public document scraping, parsing, and metadata enrichment pipelines
• Familiarity with MLOps best practices (MLflow, CI/CD, monitoring, cost optimization)
