Position Overview
Architecttura is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join our Toronto office, with a focus on hospitality projects. This role is suited for a creative, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working across all phases of design, from concept through construction.
The ideal candidate brings strong creative and technical capability, design sensibility, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and consultants.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual designs in collaboration with the project team and the Project Manager to communicate ideas to clients and stakeholders.
- Research, source, and specify finishes, furniture systems, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
- Produce design and construction documentation using Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D Visualization software across all project phases, including programming, schematic design, and working drawings.
- Conduct site audits and field reviews to document existing conditions.
- Support contract administration activities during construction, including reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and site instructions.
- Coordinate drawing packages and ensure alignment with internal project delivery standards.
- Prepare and manage authority submission packages, including building permit approvals.
- Attend site meetings and perform site reviews as required.
- Identify project risks, escalate issues, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to proposals and support business development initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D Visualization software.
- Solid understanding of interior construction documentation and coordination.
- Knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and construction methodologies.
- Experience with FF&E selection, specification, and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines within a team environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Interior Design in Canada.
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.
- Intern or Registered Interior Designer (ARIDO), or eligible for registration in Ontario.
- Experience in hospitality, commercial, and institutional projects.
- Demonstrated experience in functional programming and space planning.
