Antec Controls (www.anteccontrols.com), a division of Price Industries, is a leader in environmental monitoring and control for critical spaces such as operating rooms, isolation rooms, and laboratories. Our range of products includes electronic controllers, touchscreen interfaces, sensors, air valves and many other supporting products. Our controllers are highly configurable, allowing for optimization of room and fume hood control. Antec Controls has a diverse engineering team which includes electrical, software and mechanical disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to learn and create expertise within the role while remaining open to cross-training within our fast-growing business. Embedded Systems Designer (Junior) – Antec Controls We are looking for an embedded systems designer who is technically inclined, who thrives on new challenges, and who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. The Successful Candidate's Responsibilities Will Include

• Improve and maintain the embedded systems of our existing controllers
• Design embedded systems for new controls products and features
• Contribute to project scope definition and concept development
• Perform cost benefit analyses
• Write and execute design verification tests
• Prepare reports and keep organized records for project documentation
• Participate in communicating with our customer-facing team members to define feature requirements and translate into product specifications
• Deliver solutions on schedule and within budget
• Stay up to date with trends in development tools, technology and industry trends

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have

• A College Diploma or University Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 1-4 years of hands-on experience with embedded systems design
• Hands-on experience with C and/or C++ programming
• A firm understanding of basic algorithms and data structures
• Experience with network communication (TCP/UDP/HTTP)
• An understanding of embedded protocols (I2C/SPI/CANbus/RS-485)
• Experience using Git (version control) and issue tracking system
• Strong interpersonal communication and organization, with an eye for detail
• A high level of critical thinking and accountability
• The ability to work both independently and in a team environment to meet timeline-dependent deliverables
• Ability to identify and solve root cause problems with simple solutions
• Embedded hardware design experience, including schematic design, PCB design and prototyping considered an asset
• Experience with C# desktop application development considered an asset
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python is considered an asset
