Our Ideal Candidate
Allnorth is currently seeking experienced Surveyors to support project work across Canada. In this role, you will conduct a broad range of field surveys including construction layout, topographic, volumetric, and legal surveys, with opportunities to support both local projects and FIFO rotational assignments in remote, camp-based environments, including potential 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off (3/3) schedules. Edmonton-based candidates are preferred for select rotational opportunities
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities include but are not limited:
- Setting up a network of control points to perform survey work on the entire length of the project
- Staking working widths, centreline, and extra workspaces as specified in drawings
- Data capturing of pipe as built, pipe tracking, depth of cover, ditch plugs, etc
- Volume calculations
- Data reporting on features that may be removed or destroyed during construction, barriers, and bridges
- Summary reports on pipe tracking including installed, waste, and lost pipe, as well as tracking of each pipe joint
- 3D scanning, including modelling and data processing using Leica scanners
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Diploma in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying Technology, or equivalent field training
- Minimum 3 years of construction surveying experience is required
- Previous pipeline survey experience
- 3D scanning experience
- Line Locate Experience
- Experience using AutoCAD's Civil 3D is an asset
- Registration as a Professional Survey Technologist is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Technical competence and attention to detail
- A high level of dependability
- Ability to work a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotational schedule in a remote, camp-based environment
- Edmonton-based candidates are strongly preferred
- Willing to work for extended periods in remote areas and/or in a camp-based position
- A driver’s license is required for this position
