Mechanical Designer📍 Winnipeg, MB | Casual / Part-Time (with potential for Full-Time)About Us

Alliance Engineering Services Inc. (AESI) is a Winnipeg-based engineering firm specializing in mechanical and electrical design across commercial, institutional, industrial, and municipal projects. With 25 years of experience, we are committed to innovative solutions and a people-first approach.

We’re currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to support our team on a casual or part-time basis, as needed. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to grow into full-time hours for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare preliminary and detailed drawings in AutoCAD and Revit formats.
  • Assist in preparing engineering reports, studies, and project documentation.
  • Support the design team by completing calculations, equipment selections, and energy modeling using Excel, Carrier HAP, and other software tools.
  • Prepare schedules, design calculations, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain equipment selections and technical details.
  • Participate in in-house training and learn AESI standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or a related field OR 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with design and energy modeling software (e.g., Carrier HAP) is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and take direction from engineers.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and eagerness to learn.
