Your Opportunity: Alberta Health Services is undertaking a $168 million Diagnostic Imaging Capital Equipment Replacement Project, one of the largest initiatives of its kind in Canada. Reporting to the Program Director, the Senior Advisor, Equipment & Informatics will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful planning, implementation, and integration of new diagnostic imaging equipment across AHS sites. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of equipment planning and health informatics, supporting procurement processes, readiness planning, and workflow integration. The Senior Advisor will help align infrastructure, IT systems, and clinical operations, ensuring new technologies are seamlessly embedded into care environments. In addition, the role contributes to digital integration with platforms such as Provincial Enterprise Imaging and Connect Care, supporting configuration, testing, and performance validation. By collaborating with clinicians, site teams, vendors, and technical experts, the Senior Advisor helps drive process standardization, issue resolution, and data-driven decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the modernization of Alberta’s diagnostic imaging system and play a direct role in strengthening healthcare services for patients across the province. Description: Reporting to the Program Director, Diagnostic Imaging Capital Equipment Replacement Project, the Senior Advisor, Equipment & Informatics supports the successful delivery of Alberta Health Services’ $168 million Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Capital Equipment Replacement Project. This project-specific position plays a key role in coordinating activities related to the planning, implementation, and integration of new diagnostic imaging equipment and associated informatics across AHS sites. Working closely with project leads and technical experts, the Senior Advisor assists in the development of equipment specifications, participates in procurement processes, and supports readiness planning for equipment installation. This includes liaising with site teams, IT, and vendors to help ensure infrastructure requirements and clinical workflows are aligned for successful implementation. The Senior Advisor also contributes to informatics planning by helping to coordinate the integration of new equipment with digital imaging platforms such as Provincial Enterprise Imaging and Connect Care. The role supports system configuration, testing, and documentation, ensuring that upgrades meet performance standards and contribute to improved diagnostic services. This position collaborates with a broad group of stakeholders, including site operations, physicians, vendors, and technical teams and contributes to process standardization, issue tracking, and project reporting. The Senior Advisor plays an important role in supporting data-driven decision-making and the long-term sustainability of DI services. Classification: Senior Advisor Union: Exempt Unit and Program: Diagnostic Imaging, Capital Equipment Primary Location: Seventh Street Plaza Location Details: Eligible to work remotely within Alberta Employee Class: Regular Full Time FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 23-SEP-2025 Date Available: 03-NOV-2025 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Minimum Salary: $37.82 Maximum Salary: $64.86 Vehicle Requirement: Driver's License, Vehicle Required Required Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Health Technology Management, Information Systems, or related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting multi-site capital equipment projects, including planning, procurement, installation, and integration in healthcare environments. Foundational knowledge of diagnostic imaging modalities (CT, MRI, Ultrasound) and imaging informatics, with ability to align technology to clinical workflows. Experience with public sector procurement, including technical specifications, RFP evaluation, and vendor collaboration. Skilled in site readiness coordination with Facilities, IT, and Biomedical Engineering to enable smooth equipment deployment. Strong collaboration and communication skills; proven ability to work with clinicians, technical staff, and stakeholders. Demonstrated problem-solving, adaptability, and support for teams through technology and workflow change. Awareness of capital budgets and service contracts; able to support financial tracking and vendor accountability. Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams for project tracking and reporting. Additional Required Qualifications: As required. Preferred Qualifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal training in project management is considered a strong asset.
