Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Flatbed Dispatcher role located in Winnipeg, MB. The Flatbed Dispatcher will coordinate daily flatbed truck movements, schedule and assign loads, and communicate with drivers to ensure efficient and safe transportation of freight. Responsibilities include monitoring load status, updating customers and internal stakeholders, and resolving issues related to routes, delays, and equipment. The role involves working with dispatch software, maintaining accurate load and driver records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations. The Flatbed Dispatcher will also collaborate with operations, safety, and customer service teams to optimize routes, support driver needs, and provide responsive, professional service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in flatbed transportation dispatching is required
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple loads, drivers, and priorities simultaneously.
- Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Comfort using dispatch or transportation management software, as well as basic proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and other office tools.
- Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations, safety practices, and documentation requirements is an asset.
- Problem-solving skills and sound judgment to address route changes, delays, and unexpected operational issues.
- Ability to work on-site in Winnipeg, MB, with flexibility for extended or irregular hours as business needs require.
- Previous experience in Canadian freight operations or drayage is an asset; high school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education in logistics or a related field is an advantage.
