We’re looking for passionate professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment and are ready to contribute to impactful projects that shape communities. If you're driven by purpose and want to be part of a team that builds with integrity and innovation, Aecon Utilities is where your career can thrive. AUE is seeking a CAD QC Specialist to lead quality‑control activities across FTTH and coaxial design packages, ensuring all drawings, documentation, and records meet Municipal Operations Centre standards and regulatory requirements. • Interpret permit drawings and utilize city websites to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Designers and Field Inspectors to troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues.
  • Prepare design drawings, quantity calculations, and as-built documentation for various utility projects using software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Retrieve physical records from customer databases and other record management systems.
  • Conduct field work and data collection to ensure compliance with CSA/ESA guidelines for aerial, buried, and underground structures.
  • Analyze and interpret records to develop cost-effective designs aligned with client requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to design and project management activities.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to ensure adherence to standard construction methods.
  • Audit CAD drawings for FTTH and coaxial projects, validating clearances, layer standards, symbology, and annotation accuracy.
  • Provide feedback to the CAD team and support training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Design QC and Permitting teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
