Position Summary
The Finance Operations & Nation Support Manager supports financial systems, audit preparation, and financial administration processes for Accurate Indigenous Managers & Advisors and the First Nations communities we work with.
This role works closely with Nation administrators, finance teams, and AIMA leadership to ensure financial systems are organized, compliant, and practical for long-term community operations.
The position combines hands-on financial operations with advisory support, helping strengthen financial processes while supporting communities in managing funding agreements, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations
• Support financial systems and internal accounting processes
• Assist with financial record organization and reconciliation processes
• Support payroll coordination and financial documentation management
• Maintain organized financial documentation for reporting and audits
Audit & Compliance Support
• Assist with preparation of audit documentation and supporting files
• Support year-end financial cleanup and reconciliation processes
• Help implement financial process improvements following audits
• Ensure financial procedures align with funding agreements and reporting requirements
Nation Financial Support
• Work with First Nation finance staff and administrators to strengthen financial procedures
• Assist with financial templates, tracking tools, and documentation processes
• Support implementation of consistent financial workflows and systems
• Provide practical support to improve financial record management
Reporting & Coordination
• Assist with preparation of internal financial summaries and reports
• Support financial tracking and budgeting processes when required
• Work collaboratively with HR, governance, and project teams on Nation projects
Qualifications & Skills
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years accounting or financial operations experience
• Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, or financial administration
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage confidential financial information
• Experience working with First Nations organizations or funded program environments is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to First Nations communities as required
Work Conditions & Compensation
• Full-time position based in Winnipeg, Manitoba
• On-site work environment at the AIMA office
• Travel to First Nations communities may be required depending on project needs
• Salary based on experience and qualifications
